It is always so special to hear what great things sponsored children are able to accomplish and it was a year of firsts for the children in Appalachian programs. We had the first Children, Incorporated student to be recognized as Valedictorian of his senior class, with another senior in the “Top 20.” For the first time, a Children, Incorporated senior achieved the NCCER certification in Masonry Levels II and III. It was the first year a female senior won a scholarship to the Nashville Auto-Diesel College and the first time a sponsored junior received the highly prestigious Gilmore Band Award. What a year of firsts!
